We’ve known financial advisor Anastasia Wiese for years, as our paths kept crossing at financial forums in and around Michigan. After a while, we agreed it made sense to combine Anastasia’s legal and financial background with our existing strengths, serving all our clients as a unique team. You can read Anastasia’s full bio on our website, but today we share a more personal introduction. Want to know more? Give us a call anytime. What appealed to you about joining forces with Grand Wealth Management? When I first met the Grand Wealth team in 2012, we hit it off right away, based on our common desire to work directly with people to make a positive impact in their lives. After that, we always had great conversations whenever our paths would cross. As my practice grew, I realized joining forces with Grand Wealth would help me deliver new levels of client care to my existing relationships, while positioning me to serve a growing client base. I also have appreciated the opportunity to be part of Ellie Winter’s retirement transition team, ensuring seamless, ongoing care for her clients. In short, it seemed like an ideal solution for all concerned. How did an attorney become a financial advisor?During my studies and work in law school, I always enjoyed the eclectic mix of tax, finance, business and law. While pursuing my law degree at Valparaiso University, I focused on tax, business and estate planning law. Before that, I graduated from the honors business program at Albion College, where I majored in economics with a focus in finance and accounting. After completing my legal studies in 2013, I had the opportunity to step into an advisory position, where I worked directly with clients to analyze their financial well-being. My role as a holistic advisor has felt like a natural fit ever since. What are your interests – in the office and beyond? As a financial professional, I’m especially interested in women in wealth, executives and other individuals in transition and retirement planning for professionals. I’m also experienced in managing 401(k) company plans for small- to mid-sized companies. In the community, I’m especially passionate about childhood health and well-being. I am a fundraising and programming leader with the Junior League of Grand Rapids and Spectrum Health’s Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. I also am on the boards of the Lake Michigan Estate Planning Council and Spectrum Health Community Council. During my academic years, I found it incredibly rewarding – and eye-opening – to serve as a volunteer advocate for low-income households as part of Valparaiso’s Tax Law Clinic.Any time for fun?You bet. My husband and I moved to Grand Rapids in 2013. He’s an attorney too! We both really liked the community and its energy level. It seemed like a great place to settle down and start a family. Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of knitting, since we’re expecting our second daughter in October.Welcome, Anastasia!
